Metadate CD may raise your blood pressure. Check your blood pressure regularly and tell your doctor if the results are high.
The recommended starting dose of Metadate CD is 20 mg once daily. Dosage may be adjusted in weekly 10-20 mg increments to a maximum of 60 mg/day, depending upon tolerability and effectiveness. Metadate CD may interact with blood thinners, clonidine, dobutamine, epinephrine, isoproterenol, cold/allergy medicine that contains phenylephrinepotassium citrate, sodium acetate, sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, potassium citrate, sodium citrate and citric acid, medications to treat high or low blood pressure, stimulant medications or diet pills, seizuremedicine, or antidepressants. Tell your doctor all medications you are taking. Metadate CD should be used only when prescribed during pregnancy. It is not known whether this drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
