my school wanted me to take it , when I started but it just went down , I was depressed, stopped eating and I would kill myself . Now I’m on the new type of medicine for ADHD , so far it has gone well but we’ll see

I’ve been on prozac for a couple of years for depression. After the birth of my 4th child, I became more depressed then ever. I was perscribed ritalin with the prozac. What a great difference! I was more focused, and had a little more energy then I had before. The depression was totally gone, and still is. Three years later, I’m still taking both medications, and feeling fine. I don’t know any long term effects, but I do know that I’m one happy mother!

Ritilan treats my Narcolepsy or consistent fatigue great. Unfortunately, the feeling of being awake does not last but a few hours. It would be great to be prescribed more of this, but there is a chance of abuse. Personally, my doctor does not wish to risk anything. So, I have to be smart with what he gives me. Dr Jason Scott is the best doctor to explain your problem to.

27yr-old Australian guy who suffers from severe clinical depression and general anxiety. On Lexapro 80mg/daily and Remeron/Avanzo 45mg/nightly. Over a month ago my psych had mentioned to me about adding Ritalin to the mix as he had had good results with other patients in helping with depression to remove the negative feelings and also help me to organize and concentrate on my life-one thing at a time. Its over 1 month now and I take 30mg a day and my life has changed! It’s a wonderdrug for depression and literally leaves you feeling confident and in control, and gives you that extra energy to do things. It makes me into that “normal” person and gives me that “normal persons” energy.I think its great, I love it, and highly recommend it to any really depressed patient to ask their Dr or Psych to see if they can add it to their arsenal of drugs against your depression.Used alone it wouldn’t work. But along with an anti-depressant(s) – it’s certainly worth a shot.

I was diagnosed with ADHD back in middle school, but never actually began taking medication due to healthcare limitations. Elementary through high school was pretty much a nightmare. I struggled and barely graduated each time. I tried college for a year and a half and dropped out because I couldn’t focus on the work load. Also, I developed social anxiety in large groups. I dropped out, spent 5 years in the Marine Corps, then tried going back to college. I began having the same difficulties I had in the past and decided to get evaluated for ADHD again. I take 20 mg per day, occasionally more if I need it, and my life has done a 180. I’m confident and even comfortable being around people now. I can focus on my homework for hours on end and have begun getting much better grades. Most importantly, because I can get my work done on time, I have much more free time to enjoy my life. I would definitely recommend trying the medication for anyone who believes they have ADHD. Not everyone’s brain works the same way and there’s no shame for requiring medication to function at a healthy level.

It is the only thing that has helped my depression. I had just low grade chronic depression, tried antidepressants which either made me tired which antidepressants that made me tired made me even more depressed as I couldn’t get things done or focus, tried other types they made me hostile, I was severe at procrastinating, lacked motivation. I started at 30mg Ritalin alone, adjusted to a dose of 60mg and have been on that dose 5 years adjusting it to how I feel, worked a miracle, can take it as needed, I can break it up to make my own time released way. I didn’t handle time release forms well as sometimes it is too much this way I can read how my body feels and adjust it. I have energy and motivation during the day, and sleep well at night. my recommend rate is only 3, all body’s react different, I think of children who are to young to read how their body and brain is reacting, sometimes it can be to much and you feel anxiety, hostile, so some days I use less.
